YASS! I finally reached L1 after spending a little over AUD$300 in 2015 on a combination of skincare and makeup. This is the first out of three levels when it comes to qualifying for an exclusive beauty sample box that is distributed quarterly (Jan / Apr / Aug / Dec). I guess you could say this is similar to those that hold a Sephora beauty insider account. This is a great incentive to explore new brands and rekindle with preloved brands.
The card inside is doubled-sided and features information about the samples you receive. I have 4 samples that is a combination of makeup and skincare products. Since this is my first box, there isn’t much for me to compare it with. It is hard at this stage to say if I like it or not, but I did hear that you can get either a sample sized Hourglass lipstick or a NARS lip pencil.
By Terry Light-Expert Foundation No.5 – A click foundation brush featuring an upgraded formula and new contouring kabuki brush for flawless, radiant skin and on-the-go application. It claims to be buildable, lightweight formula brightens the complexion, erases imperfections and promotes a silky, smooth finish. Enriched with Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate, smooth and fill in fine lines, this is the ultimate travel friendly foundation. No.5 Peach Beige might just be a tad light on me, but if I try it, I might be able to get it to work one way or another.
Dr Brandt Glow Revitalising Retinol Eye Cream – An advanced eye treatment that hydrates, minimises the appearance of fine lines and brightens the eye area. I have never tried this brand before, but I am looking forward to see if this will work on my skin.
Josie Moran Cosmetics 100% Pure Argan Oil Light – It claims to be lauded as the “liquid gold of Morocco“, pure Argan Oil nourishes, hydrates and balances the skin. Loaded with Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, this oil heals, conditions and protects skin, hair and nails. I have received this previously as a sample but have yet to use it.
Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick Grace – A silky, richly pigmented lipstick that defines and shapes the lips as it moisturises. I am familiar with Hourglass cosmetics but have only tried a few of their products: veil mineral primer with SPF 15, limited edition ambient lighting edit and mini opaque rouge liquid lipstick. Above is a swatch of this lipstick, which appeared to be more of a pinkish-nude and is great for everyday day wear. Formulated with vitamin E, it conditions and treats lips with protective super antioxidants.
Have you guys picked up your January beauty loop boxes?
