Bioderma is a brand I had become familiar with when Ingrid aka missglamorazzi on youtube shared favourites video and featured Bioderma’s Sensibio H20 Micelle Solution. She may have not been the first to mention it, but I know it has since become a much loved product and a staple in many beauty lovers’ skincare collection.
Naturally, I fell in love and just so happened that I would some day have this opportunity at trying out a few new products under the Bioderma Sensibio range, courtesy of Cosmetiques De France. If you are not familiar with Bioderma, they are essentially an independent dermatological laboratory, based in Lyon, France. Bioderma provides a range of dermo-cosmetic products that respond to ALL skin problems.
“Bioderma believes that a product should not do the work of the skin, but should help the skin do its job better, teaching it to durably regain its original function, thereby restoring its equilibrium.”
Bioderma introduced 3 new additional products to the cult sensation derma skincare line, which coincides perfectly for Spring when those who are skin sensitivity prone and experience redness at their worst.
*Bioderma Sensibio Make Up Removing Milk AU$32.99 – Hands up all those beauties that can relate when it comes to being lazy at removing their makeup? ?? I am definitely one of these girls that often skip washing their face after removing makeup. I have never used a creamy cleansing milk, that not only removes all traces of eye and face makeup, but also cleans skin with this non-rinse formula. Thanks to the Toleridine Potent that increases the tolerance threshold and reduces skin sensitivity, a perfect product for all those beauties with sensitive skin issues. The added Glycerin and Xylitol is what instantly moisturises and softens skin every time. I use about a 50 cent size coin on a round makeup pad to evenly distribute to my face and neck to remove my makeup. This step allows me to skip washing my face and continue on with my evening skincare routine.
*Bioderma Sensibio AR BB Cream SPF 30+ Light AU$43.99 – I have always struggled to find the best BB cream formula and shade that would suit my combination-dry skin type. I have tested this BB cream on a few occasions for its longevity, coverage and whether I would break out into a hot mess. I found that while I have used a primer, this BB cream had remained on my skin for a solid 6 hours. It also gave a lovely light to medium, but buildable coverage and every time, it gave my skin a radiant finish. I have experienced dewy situations on my t-zone, but nothing as bad as a greasy hamburger if you know what I mean.
I have not experienced any redness so I can not comment on whether this product had concealed redness on my face. Though the ingredients such as Enoxolone, Canola and Allantoin help to soothe skin and reduces the ‘heating‘ sensation that is associated with skin redness. I can only image it would work best for those who do experience redness on the daily. Note, that the added SPF will help to protect and reduce UV rays that can aggravate redness and rosacea.
The only downfall, which can change over time is the selection of shades available. At this time, there is only 1 shade and this unfortunately will not suit everyone. However, I was still able to use it even though my face is darker than my neck and just teamed it with a bronzer to make it look more natural.
*Bioderma Sensibio Toning Lotion AU$32.99 – After makeup removal, I go straight to using this toning lotion, which for me is kind of like using water to remove the remains of makeup that may have dodged the cleansing milk. This contains Cucumber Extract and Allantoin that just soothes my skin as well as help to decongest, making the skin ready for the next steps in my skincare routine. A tip which I learnt recently was to put this toning lotion in the fridge for extra cooling results, as well as to use as a soothing eye mask.
All three products have been integrated with my current skincare/makeup rotation. I am thoroughly enjoying the toning lotion, as it just feels so lovely and refreshing on the skin. I can see this become a staple in my skincare routine over the summer too!
These products are now available for purchase at Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, selected Pharmacies nationally and online through adorebeauty.com.au. For more information, check out Bioderma Australia on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.
