With Autumn now underway—the cooler and drier days are making a comeback. This could also mean our skin may need new or additional products to help combat tight, dryness and dehydrated skin. For beauties like me with a combination-dry and sensitive skin, I heavily rely on intensive and nourishing products to promote continuous hydration and healthier looking skin. The newest products from Dermalogica‘s dryness and dehydration family are these two intensive moisture duos. You may want to explore other products in this range should you feel your skin requires extra love and gentle care.
Intensive Moisture Cleanser 150ml $60.50*
The intensive moisture cleanser is described as a light creamy cleanser that helps to remove impurities as it nourishes dry and depleted skin. This emollient and rich formula is said to cleanse skin while helping to minimise damage of vital proteins and lipids that defend against dryness. Dermalogica uses BioReplenish Complex technology along with phytoactives found in coconuts and murumuru seed butter that is seen to protect barrier lipids and preserve skin’s natural resilience for a smooth feel after cleansing skin. It also consists of extracts such as citrus, palmarosa and jasmine to refresh tired and dull skins.
I found the cleanser to be quite gentle for my combination-dry and sometimes sensitive skin. It foams up quickly and washes away with warm water without leaving skin feel tight or dry, instead it leaves a supple, soft, cleansed and radiant skin. It is my current daily go to evening cleanser (can also be used as a morning cleanser) that has helped to reveal a fresh and nourished skin. I recommend this product if you’re looking to transition your cleansers with the cool and dry season. This cleanser is available in 2 sizes: 150ml and 295ml ($95). This product is gluten and paraben free, vegan, cruelty free and does not contain any artificial fragrance or colours.
Intensive Moisture Balance 50ml $75*
The intensive moisture balance is described as an ultra-nourishing moisturiser that helps to restore lipid balance to dry and depleted skin. Like the intensive moisture cleanser, this also uses the BioReplenish Complex to deliver and enhance the skin’s natural resilience and support barrier recovery. It contains prebiotic chlorella algae complex that is send to help rebalance skin’s natural microbiome to reveal healthy-looking skin. It is also rich in hyaluronic acid with echinacea, centella asiatica and aloe vera. These all help to lock in hydration and help enhance skin’s moisture levels but can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines.
I found this creamy moisturiser to be rich in texture but absorbs quickly into clean that leaves an immediate supple, replenished and hydrated skin. This is recommended to use twice a day, however, it is currently too rich for my skin, but I prefer to use this moisturiser as part of my morning skincare routine. Hydration lasts all day for me and don’t need to top up as skin feels nourished even after completing my evening skincare routine. I really can’t fault this product because it’s gentle and hydrating. The duos are a perfect team for anyone who are prone to dryness especially during transitional weather. These have become staples in my daily beauty routines cross seasons. This moisturiser is available in 2 sizes: 15 ($28) and 50ml. This product is gluten and paraben free, vegan, cruelty free and does not contain any artificial fragrance or colours.
The Dermalogica intensive moisture duos and the rest of their dryness and dehydrated product range are available in store and online at Dermalogica flagship stores, David Jones, Endota Spa, Ella Rouge, selected beauty spas and via: dermalogica.com.au nationally.
