Dr Dennis Gross is a renowned A-List’s Dermatologist of choice, with a clinic located in the heart of New York’s 5th Avenue and his bestselling at-home peel has become a daily must-have for many. I first discover Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel, on instagram when Simon from The Skincare Obsessive, posted an evening skincare routine featuring this 2 step anti-ageing treatment.
There are 3 types: alpha beta®ultra gentle daily peel (3 acids), alpha beta®universal daily peel (5 acids) and alpha beta®extra strength daily peel (7 acids). As you know, I have dehydrated-combination skin type with an occasional sensitivity in the mix–a bit of redness on the cheeks and the usual oily t-zone. This is ideal for oily skin and those suffering acne and rosacea, as well as normal skin users who are looking to combat anti-ageing.
“It literally addresses every skincare concern from acne to rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles, pores, radiance and tone, and produces an over-all glow in 2 minutes” – Dr Dennis Gross.
Though my skin does not suffer from these skin issues on the daily, I feel that my skin type still work well in synergy to improve the appearance of firmness, clarity, radiance, leaves my skin feeling moisturise and overall balanced. I noticed after the second time, my skin had improved and how addicted I have become to include this in my skincare routine, as this is my second 5 day treatment box.
To use: cleanse face, then use Step 1 pre-soaked towelette that is packed with 5 rejuvenating powerful yet gentle exfoliating acids (Lactic, Malic, Glycolic, Cytric, Salicylic). Use all over face, neck and décolletage, until towelette is dry. Wait 2 minutes and follow through with Step 2, a pre-soaked towelette that controls the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) activity and delivers anti-ageing actives, nourishing skin, keeping it balanced, smooth, and radiant. Then continue with the rest of your skincare routine, serums/oils/moisturisers.
I have been using at least 2x a week for the past month in conjunction with my rotated skincare routine. However, this is gentle enough to be used on the daily, but I also use a similar exfoliation peel (Go-To Skincare Exfoliating Swipeys), I go back and forth, which still gives me similar results. You can pick up either 5, 30 or 60 day treatments and prices will vary with a minimum will set you back from AU$24 from Mecca or US$16 from Sephora.com.
