New on the block from Ella Bache are these spirulines firming moisturisers. What is Spirulina? According to google, it is a naturally occurring blue-green algae that has been linked to food supplements, glowing skin, reduced inflammation, anti-ageing benefits and your overall health. So what does this mean for our skin? The superfood spirulina has been said to list benefits and nutrients—a kind of algae that’s packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that seemed to be used as food supplements for many years now. For the past month I have been incorporating these two new moisturisers into my skincare routine for the purpose of improving my skin texture, minimising my pores, help to minimise the appearance of surface lines and overall improve the appearance of my skin.
Spirulines Firming Day Cream 50ml $125*
The spirulines firming day cream is best described as a nourishing and paraben- free morning moisturiser that can help to instantly smooth and firm the skin. It is enriched with hyaluronic acid and plant-derived squalane to help hydrate and soften skin. The antioxidant-rich spirulina and wheat-green oil help to soften the appearance of fine lines and product skin against free radicals and environmental pollution.
The day cream comes in weighted jar however, but does not come with a spatula to scoop up product. I don’t mind using my finger to scoop a pearl size that will cover my face and neck areas. The texture is a soft, velvety but lightweight cream that is absorbed into skin quickly leaving a very moisturised and nourished skin.
I have found that in the last few weeks, my skin has been looking smoother and nourished. I will continue to use this into the next seasons as I have enjoyed the lightness and overall my skin is looking healthier. This cream does contain fragrance however not in an artificial sense. It has an earthy but subtle scent that for me isn’t too bad. I do experience sensitive skin from time to time and while I have slowly introduced this into my routine a few weeks ago, I haven’t noticed any skin allergies or inflammation while using this product. This product is suitable for all skin types.
Spirulines Firming Night Cream 50ml $130*
The spirulines firming night cream is best described as an intensive and paraben-free night treatment to help improve skin texture and tone while you sleep. The key ingredients include the antioxidant-rich spirulina, hyaluronic acid to plump, moisturise and soften the look of fine lines, as well as tripeptide skin proteins to help boost natural collagen and elastin production to help firm and retexturizes skin.
Just like the spirulines firming day cream, the night cream comes in weighted jar however, does not contain a spatula to scoop up product. I don’t mind using my finger to scoop a pearl size that will cover my face and neck areas. The texture is a rich, velvety but lightweight cream that is absorbed into skin leaving a very moisturised and light dewy finish. I found I needed to massage this cream more into my skin as the texture is richer than the firming day cream.
Over the course of four weeks, my skin when teamed with the day cream appeared healthier-looking. I have noticed overnight that my face appeared awake, brightened, hydrated and overall skin texture appeared more smoother, softer and calm. This night cream does contain fragrance however not in an artificial sense. It has slightly milder earthy scent that is different from the day cream and for me isn’t too bad. I do experience sensitive skin from time to time and while I have slowly introduced this into my routine a few weeks ago, I haven’t noticed any skin allergies or inflammation while using this product. This product is best suited to beauties that have dry-very dry skin types.
