During the Easter break, Dermalogica offered a face mapping skin analysis at Pitt St Mall inside Westfield. It was approximately a 15-20 minute discussion, where your Dermalogica professional skincare therapist educates you about your skin in 14 zones. With every skin analysis comes with a prescription or recommendation of products that would be most affective to treating your skin condition.
I met with Rachel who identified my skin type to be combination (I experienced an oily t-zone and sensitivity on the cheeks), but overall my skin is actually dehydrated.
A new term I learnt was hyaluronic acid – also known as HA, a natural compound found in skin that has many important functions, including holding in moisture, aiding in tissue repair, holding together the skin structural components collagen and elastin, and help to create a protective barrier against microorganisms.
At the end of my skin diagnosis, I was offered a 30 day skincare pack for AUD$30, consisting of a new customised skincare regime that Rachel had discussed with me during my skin analysis. In this pack includes: Dermalogica mini skincare bag (which I will probably use to store my sunglasses in the future), Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel 50ml, Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant 13g, Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream 22ml, 2x Dermalogica Power Bright C-12 Pure Bright Serum samples, and a copy of my face mapping skin sheet. I am a newbie to Dermalogica products, but have had this brand on my long wish list.
Have you ever had a face mapping skin analysis done on your skin? What is your favourite Dermalogica product(s)?
