LA MAV Certified Organic BB Crème

For the longest time, I have had a love—hate relationship with bb crèmes, a majority of tinted creams and moisturisers in the past. Perhaps, it is the limited colour choice or it’s drying on the skin or maybe it just leaves a hot slippery mess and just doesn’t corporate with other makeup products!

“Our best-selling Organic BB Crème is the ultimate multi-tasker and must-have product for your makeup bag. Not only the perfect colour-balancing makeup base, as it also provides anti-ageing benefits and natural protection from the sun, all while leaving your skin feeling smooth, radiant and hydrated.” – La Mav.

*Certified Organic BB Crème Medium50ml $44.95

This certified organic bb crème is described as an ultimate multi-tasker that not only is a great base for makeup, provides anti-ageing benefits and offers a natural sun protection, but also leaves skin feel smooth, hydrated (infused with vitamin c and organic rosehip oil) and is perfect for beauties who have skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema and acne.

The packaging is simple but it’s great to dispense product through a pump, which means less mess and more hygienic. There are currently 2 shades available, light and medium. Often, when I use these types of products, medium is either light or dark and never an actual neutral medium shade with maybe a yellow or golden undertone.

Alas, this appears to have just the right amount of colour that magically looks flawless on my face. The texture is in a mousse consistency, but dries like a powder bb crème with a semi-matte finish. It feels lightweight and doesn’t crease around the eye area or anywhere on the face. I used this as an eyeshadow base too and noticed that the eyeshadows last longer without it slipping away or creasing. This has a light to medium coverage, however, I think it can be buildable to full, but if you have dark blemishes or other imperfections, you may still need to use a concealer. The product lasts a good 8 hours before my t-zone begin to break into a hot greasy mess. This is something I have accepted and it doesn’t bother me as much as it used too!

Overall, I’m very happy with how this turned out on my skin. It concealed my pores, some minor dry skin patches around my chin, kept my skin hydrated, left a good medium coverage, and didn’t need to do any touch ups. This is perfect for everyday wear when you might not be a huge fan of wearing full coverage foundations. The product is breathable, feels natural, product doesn’t oxidise and with added bonus sun protection (spf 11).
