L’OREAL Paradise Extatic Mascara, a Too Faced Dupe?

Drugstore mascaras have more than often seen a turn for a hit or miss, mostly a miss. There have been maybe one or two I’ve loved but I rarely buy from the drugstore only to be disappointed due to claims and promises a mascara would deliver. Personally, I only look for length and definition, and anything else like volume or curl are extras. The Too Faced better than sex mascara, which is one of my favourite mascaras–I haven’t really found anything like it.

“The Ultra-Soft brush coats lashes with a silky smooth formula, enriched with lash-loving castor oil. Lashes feel feather-soft, without any flaking.” – L’Oreal Paris.

When it comes to packaging, the one thing that caught my eyes real fast was this long and narrow rose gold tube with a sassy print label on the front. The long wand consists of this brush with combination of short & long teeth surrounding the barrel of the brush. It is flexible as it bends to coat each lash evenly. This mascara is similar with Too Faced better than sex mascara except the teeth are aligned closely to each other giving way for more product to coat each lash, which in turn will create fuller and thicker lashes instantly. The brush is also shaped in an hourglass, which paradise extatic mascara does not have.

The paradise extatic mascara leaves a semi-wet look that doesn’t transfer to eye lid, which I have often experienced with Too Faced. It also dried a little quicker and felt it better coated each lash without clumps or crispy, instead it excelled in creating length, lash separation and overall left lashes more defined. Multiple coats will look thicker and fuller that can create that dramatic spidery look but in the most comfortable way.

Overall, this mascara is a good dupe for the Too Faced better than sex mascara. One coat gives a natural no mascara look and two or more coats give you intense volume and drama. I like it for its ease and comfort that it applies a smooth coat of product to each lash, leaving them feel soft, doesn’t have that stiffness or crunchy feel and best of all, it doesn’t irritate the eyes.

I found it lasted well on the lashes and didn’t flake, smudge or transfer on the eye lids or under the eyes through out the wear. It also added a nice soft curl that left the tips of my lashes this natural fluffy look, which is something I’ve never seen before.

Have you tried this paradise extatic mascara?
