The other week, I picked up a few things I wanted to try on my Mecca wish list page. Although, these items haven’t been sitting on my list for very long, I wanted to refresh my beauty stash. I plan to do a series posts around makeup trash coming soon. So naturally, I needed to pick up some new items to make up for what I think would be lacking in my current collection.
Currently, I have a few more skincare items I have to finish off before I begin trying out new ones, but for now, I couldn’t resist buying this Korres Almond Blossom Mini Collection (almond blossom moisturising cream and milk proteins 3 in 1 cleansing emulsion). I haven’t used any Korres skincare apart from their lip butters and I am excited to try out this range, however am a bit disappointed that this mini line is a limited edition only!
When you spend X amount on an order, you can choose 3 samples and these are the ones I chose: Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter, Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer and Chantecaille Flower Harmonizing Cream. I have never used either the righteous butter and flower harmonizing cream and have never heard of the brand Chantecaille, but I have used Too Faced shadow insurance primers.
I have had the bareMinerals eyeshadow duos and quads on my head wish list as I couldn’t pick out which set I wanted to buy. I love my neutrals and nude shadows and while I should be trying out more bold eyeshadows, I couldn’t pass this duo, bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 The Top Shelf, a marriage of champagne and bronze that is perfect for brown eyed beauties! I am sure these already or similar shades exist in the UD naked palette, but I just couldn’t help myself. As you can see from the swatches below, the eyeshadows are fairly pigmented and I love how I can wear each separately or blend together to create some kind of day time smoky eyeshadow look.
Clinique is a brand that I have loved for a couple of years now. In 2015, I have held back on purchasing on anything not because I didn’t love them anymore, I simply had so many other brands I had discovered and this was something that got pushed back a lot. I’m back and excited to try more of their makeup lines and in particular these Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer Bare Pop. There are so many colours to choose from and have a couple more I want to try, but lets start with the nudes. This bare pop is a pinkish-nude shade with tiny specks of shimmer and has a demi-matte finish.
The colour is highly pigmented from the get go and even with just one swipe, feels weightless, you get this instant bold, saturated colour on the lips. It lasted approximately 6 hours with eating and drinking (without re-application) and evidently faded towards the end of day.
Have you guys tried out any of the products mention in this post?
