When I heard that H&M would bring out their own collection of beauty products in 2015, I was excited and could not wait to see what was in store. I had hoped that at the time of their beauty launch that it would also become available in Australia not long after its release. Unfortunately, this was not the case and instead there may be sometime of a delay–how long is anybody’s guess.
I waited as long as I could, but have not heard anything regarding any sort of release here in Australia that I decided I had to get my hands on at least some of their line. As you know, I use a forwarding mail service to buy US beauty products that I may not be able to pick up in Australia yet or sometimes never.
I really like how these products are sold in boxes, which are rarely seen with other similar products sold in drugstore. The overall look is classy and chic, and appeals to many of those that are drawn towards makeup packaging, clearly I am one of them.
Every eyeshadow or blush, comes in this lightweight black, white or gold plastic, vintage inspired compact. The quality of the packaging may appear cheap, but you may be surprised by the quality of the formula in each pan. For the price you pay in US Dollars, this appears to be affordable and the variety of products available are fantastic.
These blushers seem to be finely milled with minimal fallouts. I found the powder blusher reminds me of NARS blush in orgasm and to have a sheen finish, whilst the cream blusher has this nude-beige for everyday shade in a matte finish. Both blushes are easy to apply and colour is very pigmented. You pay for such great quality that is sometimes missed in the drugstore.
The texture of the whipped lip mousse is creamy and thick, so I suggest applying an even thin layer. This is fairly a deep cherry shade that screams vintage vamp. The eyeshadow has this gorgeous bronze-rose tone that is perfect for summer/spring, or whenever you are in the mood to accentuate your eyes. All of these products are very opaque upon first application and buildable for an intense makeup look.
I am amazed by the quality thus far from design of packaging to the formula of each product, so I am pretty happy with everything. There are a wide selection of colours that are sometimes not found in the drugstore and various finishes to choose from. I think it will be loved by those savvy budget conscious buyers, as well as those trendy makeup lovers.
Have you tried these H&M makeup products? Which is your favourite?
