MIRENESSE: Velvet Maxi Lift Airbrush Foundation

In the last several months, I have been focusing on my skin health and putting skincare as my beauty priority. This meant that I could leave the house with minimal to no makeup. While on this journey, I have been testing out a few new makeup products, because even though my skin has been looking fab lately, I can’t help myself when it comes to trying new-to-me makeup products.

Velvet Maxi Lift Airbrush Foundation 40g $55*

The velvet maxi lift airbrush foundation is a mouthful, but it’s described as a long lasting cream foundation infused with skin lifting vitamins. It is said to skin clone, which means pigments adapt to skin tones and has an 18 hour longevity with spf 15. Its key ingredients are vitamins b & e (brightening and protection), hyaluronate (moisture), green tea extract (skin soothing) and mistletoe extract (boosts skin vitality). The foundation is vegan friendly, gluten free, is 15 free promise and is cruelty free.

The foundation comes in a squeezable tube and is available in limited shades: vanilla, vienna, mocha and bronze. You can also pick this up in a mini 5g tube and again shade choice is strictly limited (vanilla, vienna and mocha). The texture is creamy and lightweight with medium coverage and leaves a velvety finish. I used a buffing brush to apply to a pea size to my skin that covered my entire face then bringing it down to my neck area.

I found the quality to be fantastic, however limited shades can be a bit disastrous. I chose shade vienna as I was attempting to colour match based on my neck skin tone. Since I have been going for long walks, my face skin tone has darkened and if you see my demonstration photos, the foundation appeared light (left side of face) for my current skin tone. I also found that it was easy to blend and it didn’t dry my skin or create patches around my chin or cheeks. The foundation had a subtle fresh scent that faded, it left a beautiful flawless finish and I didn’t even have to use concealer. Though after 2-3 hours of wear, I did notice excessive oil sebum around my cheeks, nose and forehead which is expected. I could easily blot these areas, but as this was not a matte finish foundation, it actually looked great, kind of a dewy finish without creasing or makeup sliding around. This will be my winter foundation since my skin is tanned right now, but I am happy with the overall quality of the foundation.
