We’re now in the middle of Summer and what a better way to share with you some of my current go-to beauty products this season. There were so many beauty products to choose from, but to avoid being repetitive, I thought I’d try to pick some not-talked-about and maybe-not-yet-mentioned products (on my blog).
Summer for me is all about hydration and so is probably most of the year. I often forget to keep up with hydration, so this year, I have to prioritise to protect my skin and stay hydrated. Moisturiser, as well as SPF are an important essential to include in a skincare regiment. My picks are *Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Gel-Creme – perfect to combat dry-dehydrated skin types. Tip: If you leave this jar in the fridge and then use it, it will soothe and cool irritated or inflamed skin right away. SPF as we know is super important, especially when exposed to sunlight. This Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF 30+ – is hydrating, lightweight and also great as a base for applying foundation.
When it becomes to–too hot to wear makeup, I tend to limit what goes on my face. You will usually see me wear mascara and lipstick, as these are two things I cannot leave my house without. My picks are Ciate London Wonderwand Intensely Volumising Mascara – a wonderful mascara for someone with short lashes. This mascara will give you length, volume, definition and it will not smudge, even in today’s heat it lasts a long time!
I have been a fan of nude lipsticks for as long as they’ve been on trend (post 1990’s). My pick is the Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick in Role Play. This shade is appropriate for office wear or evening functions. The lipstick is opaque with the right amount of creaminess that leaves lips moisturised all day.
Apart from my face, I do enjoy smelling great, as well as keeping the rest of my body looking healthy. This summer, I have been exploring more fresh scents, such as *Nest Fragrance Citrine Eau De Parfum – a very happy, fresh and citrusy scent that will appeal to those that can connect with these kinds of moods. Nest Fragrances allows you to layer with other fragrances to create your own personalised scent and smell awesome!
This product is hardly brought up and I often wonder why I never see it mentioned anywhere. I love body oils as they’re a great substitute to using moisturising creams/lotions. This *Antipodes Skincare Heavenly Body Oil has blessed my skin and I don’t experience that awkward skin flakes and scales that I’m sure you’re all familiar with. I often treat my legs with just a few drops and this leaves my skin glowing, rehydrated and sexy once again!
As a bonus, I usually try to squeeze in an e-book, preferably a contemporary romance novel, as I tend to read a lot this time of the year. And you can’t walk outside without wearing some trending sunnies. This one is from Kmart and it was a bargain!
