New BIODERMA Photoderm BB Creams

By now, you would have come across and know something about BB creams. Often we find it difficult to pick a daily moisturiser that offers high SPF count, provides natural coverage without clogging pores and keeps skin hydrated and mattified all day long. Continue reading to learn more.

“The cellular bioprotection patent protects the skin’s cells and DNA, and works to even out skin tone whilst combating premature skin ageing. Photoderm BB Cream is the ultimate tinted skin perfector that protects against daily UV rays and leaves skin with a dry touch and mattifying finish.” – Bioderma.

Truth be told, I have never been lucky enough to find a BB cream that ticked the boxes. I have given up a few years back not wanting to try new ones. I had come to a conclusion that they all equally shared the same or similar characteristics that have constantly left me feeling disappointed.

After years of abandoning the BB cream wagon, Bioderma had recently launched their version of Photoderm BB Cream, which just like others I have tried in the past shared similar characteristics. I admit, it did cross my mind a plenty about the disappointments in which I had experienced with past BB creams–I cringed that this would fall in that category.

To my surprise, although these BB creams do share very similar traits as other brands, I found that the application was easy, as it blended well, using fingers or a buffing brush, which gave a lovely sheer to light coverage. The creamy lightweight formula smoothed and covered minor skin imperfections. I felt that coverage could be buildable, but didn’t leave a heavy feel when the product left a dried touch.

I could tell my skin looked nourished, hydrated and non-greasy, which for others I have tried in the past felt the opposite. The one thing that kept my smile in place was how mattifying it left my skin for the entire time I had it on my face. I often see that the longevity of other BB creams don’t last long until they oxidise and start to move around and disturb my makeup.

Even on a hot spring day, I felt it withstood on my skin without me having to touch up or use a blotting paper. I preferred to use this alone as it gave that natural look. However, it only comes in 2 shades: light and golden, which I know won’t work for everyone including me. I decided that trialling in both shades to see what each would look like, I came to a conclusion that either shades could work or I could simply mix both light and golden together to get a close skin tone match. This product is suitable for all skin types and even those with sensitive skin.

These Photoderm BB Creams are now available for purchase from Adore Beauty and Cosmetiques De France websites. If you would like to be kept updated on the latest Bioderma products, please follow their social media: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter: @BiodermaAustralia.

Ooh, it does blend well, I found the same with that. Love the blending, the shades are supposed to adapt to your natural skintone but due to be fair I find light is the better for me.

I love your review of them! 😘💛

Thank you for your comment. I know it is suppose to adapt to my skintone, however, I didn’t feel it quite blended right in, considering the light had like a pink/neutral undertone and the golden had almost like a yellow/orange undertone. If I mixed them together it isn’t too bad. BB creams in general usually only have very limited shade selections, but that is okay with me in this case as I found I can just blend both shades to create a close skin tone match with mine! 🙂 x
