Cara Delevingne, is the latest to join Rimmel’s Family. A multi-talented British model and actress, a natural choice to represent the brand for her strong look and trend-setting style. Cara is the face for the tv and print advertising campaign to launch Scandal’Eyes Reloaded Mascara. I was recently given an opportunity to review some of Rimmel’s latest Scandal’Eyes makeup range, courtesy of Coty PR Australia.
“I’m honoured to be working with Rimmel London… I’m a London girl and Rimmel London truly captures and represents the city’s edge, cosmopolitan beauty styles.” – Cara Delevingne.
*Rimmel ScandalEyes Precision Micro Eyeliner AU$12.95 – If you are a fan of fine point-tip pen eyeliners, you will definitely enjoy this one. The colour is very opaque in one stroke and after overlapping layers, the black is very noticeable. In a 5 hours wear, an eyeliner that consists of a waterproof formula, it did not smudge, bleed or fade. Though, as an amateur eyeliner girl, I found it difficult to use, as I was worried I would poke my eyeball, but more practice is needed, as I did notice the line is not shaped very well, but I am sure you get the gist.
*Rimmel ScandalEyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner AU$12.95 – This pen has an angular shaped tip where you are able to create a 2-in-1 eyeliner look. This also shares the same formula as above and also provides a very black and semi-matte look. I found this easier to use and I did prefer the thicker side, as it did not take long to draw on my upper eye lid. You will notice that on the first stroke, it is not as pigmented, but after going over the same line, the colour becomes more apparent. The only difference between the two is the shape of the tip of the pen, but both will give you the same outcome depending on the look you are willing to create.
*Rimmel Scandal’Eyes Reloaded Mascara AU$17.95 – I love a good drugstore mascara that impresses the sh!t out of me. This is another one I can add to my list of hits. The formula is dry and that can be a deal breaker for some, but I do not mind a nice dry mascara. This gives me intense black lacquer effect with volume from the first coat, and I do love that it also separated my lashes instantly without clumps. Unless you want to have panda eyes at night, unfortunately, this mascara will not give you that. Upon observing the brush, it is tapered max-density brush, shaped to fit an eye that coats every lash and builds volume from corner to corner. I have never gone longer than 9 hours wearing makeup so I can not say this lasts up to 24 hour wear, but for 5 hours, the mascara had stayed on and looked the same as when I first applied in the morning.
