Building on the success of Kate’s anniversary collection, which was first introduced in 2011 that marked her 10th anniversary of Rimmel and Kate’s partnership. The star recently introduced six special edition shades, 3 reds and 3 nudes that inspire her classic look. I was kindly given an opportunity to sample the six special edition shades from Rimmel, courtesy of Coty PR Australia.
Paying homage to Kate’s iconic looks, the anniversary collection embraces the different facets of her fashion personality.
“The new anniversary collection echoes some of my favourite London looks from the last decade and a half. I’ve focused on reds and nudes because they’re the colours I love to wear – each shade reflects a different side of me.” – Kate Moss.
These *Rimmel London x Kate Moss Lip Anniversary Lasting Finish Lipsticks (RRP AU$13.95 each) are highly opaque as each lipstick is infused with light-reflecting black diamonds and has a long-lasting longevity of up to 8 hours wear. I found that it lasted a solid 5 hours with food and drink before reapplication. Each lipstick easily glides onto lips, leaving a smooth, semi-matte finish that is absolutely comfortable to wear all day long. The red shades can stain lips as their staying power is amazing and to remove, simply use an oil-based or waterproof makeup remover.
As with Kate’s line of lasting finish lipsticks, you may be familiar with the bubblegum or sweet fragrant and these six shades are no exception. The lip collection was created in a lightweight premium special edition metallised rose gold bullet case, a favourite colour of Kate’s and making each lipstick a perfect collectors item.
You may find a colour or two from this lip anniversary collection that you will like. At the moment, you will likely see me wear number 55. My Nude, as it is defined as the understated casual chic and this is what I like to roll with everyday.
*51. Muse Red is a rich crimson created for drama and sophistication.
*52. Idol Red is a lush, vibrant red for a daring, cutting edge look.
*53. Retro Red is a sumptuous berry red that exudes vintage glamour, a revamp of the 40’s and 50’s retro style.
*54. Rock N Roll Nude is a peach tinted neutral for party girls, who wear smokey eyes with a wild-child attitude.
*55. My Nude is a beige nude shade for the understated casual chic.
*56. Boho Nude is a warm caramalised nude that compliments laid-back boho look.
The swatches speak for themselves and what you see is what you get. These are absolutely a wonderful and versatile collection that will suit everyone for every occasion.
