I’m no expert when it comes to beauty or makeup products, but I’d like to say, going from experience that I have a very basic understanding of what works and what seems to not work all the time for my ever changing skin type. I do fall under the category of Dry-Combination skin and from time to time, I do experience sensitive skin. I have a few or so skincare products that I have been using recently that have been working amazingly on my skin that I would like to share with you.
I have compiled some of my favourites in the drugstore and high-end skincare that actually works. Whether it be giving your skin back the moisture that it needs, minimises the appearances of imperfections such as uneven skin tone, reduce pore size or controlled oily T-zone, and help keep skin nourished, hydrated, supple, bright and smooth.
St. Ives Even & Bright Pink Lemon And Mandarin Orange Scrub 150ml AUD$9.99 – St. Ives facial scrubs is my favourite brand to use and I keep going back to this, because it works so well. I can easily use it daily in the shower, as it does not break out or dry up my skin and I find it to help reduce the size of my pores. The creamy texture with the tiny beads are mildly soft as you massage onto skin and is suitable enough for those that have sensitive skin. Usually, it is recommended for scrubs to be used at least 2-3 times a week, but when I am lazy, this is the only cleansing step I do before I go and apply my moisturisers.
Goodness Natural Beauty Lab Every Evening Cream 60ml AUD$19.99 – Between my second round of orders for Go-To Skincare, I was on a hunt for a similar product. I have to say, this is a close dupe to that other moisturiser I use. It has the same texture, slightly rich but very moisturising and a little goes a long way. It easily absorbs into skin and leaves a slightly dewy finish. I have this facial cream on rotation with the other and both work in the same way.
Antipodes Joyous Protein-Rich Night Replenish Serum 10ml AUD$19.66 – When I first discovered facial oils, this was one of a few that made my skin look healthier than ever. In the beginning I thought applying more oil on an oily T-zone was wack, but after reading up on how good these treatments are for the skin, I never looked back. Especially for severe dry skin, Antipodes rich night serum is one of the best at battling those tough times and if teamed up with a very moisturising face cream, your skin will thank you in the morning!
Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist 120ml USD$16 / AUD$28.84 – A new discovery from instagram and yes, I caved in after drooling at the simplistic skincare packaging. Now you know, I have a weak spot for simple skincare packaging! You can never have too many face mists lying around and this one is slightly different that the formula is infused with coconut water amongst other yummy ingredients – I love me some coconut water. It just adds a bit more moisture to the skin and keeps you refreshed when you need to spritz on a hot day or dry night.
Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Facial Oil 5ml USD$26 / AUD$37.07 – This is 1 out of 3 I have in this brand and OMG this is awesome, you guys need to have this in your life. The rollerball is a bit annoying, but I kid you not, this stuff is A-M-A-Z-E-B-A-L-L-S! It absorbs on the skin within seconds and leaves a matte finish, skin is supple, and it does not clog your pores. In the morning, my skin is still smooth, soft and replenished. I think, what dry skin? You know?
Go-To Skincare Very Useful Face Cream 50ml AUD$41 – This is the B-E-S-T face cream I have ever-ever-ever used in my entire existence. Hands down a holy grail top 3 skincare product, just going to scream it out there for everyone to hear, read and listen to. This is the product that changed my skin life of late 2015. This is my second tube and still going strong and I totally recommend this product.
The good news is that all of these products are healthier options and do not contain any nasty we-can-not pronounce chemically infused ingredients. All are cruelty-free, natural, vegan and just what your skin needs when it comes to experiencing these kinds of skin issues. They are all great products to use all year around too!
