This has been one of those most anticipated brands to hit Aussie shores and I’m happy to note you can browse through a range of Tatcha beauty over at Mecca online and at selected Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima stores.
“The benefits of the precious Camellia were discovered thousands of years ago by Japan’s Oshima Island Girls who harvested the winter bloom for its luxurious oil. A delicate swirl of 23-karat gold flakes adds a touch of glamour, celebrating the geisha’s timeless practice of elevating the everyday to the exquisite.” – Victoria Tsai, Founder of Tatcha.
Tatcha Camellia Gold Spun Lip Balm 8g
This lip balm claims to be ‘ultra-hydrating of nourishing Camellia Oil leaves lips soft and touchable with a golden shimmer’. It contains ingredients such as Japanese Camellia Oil (also known as Tsubaki), vitamins a, b, d and e, omegas 3, 6, and 9, squalene and as well as 23-karat gold flakes for the subtle shimmer.
This lip balm is encased in a lightweight plastic round jar with a gold twist lid. The packaging is simple and portable that it can fit in your pocket or handbag–travel friendly. The product weighs at 8 grams of transparent jelly-like consistency with tiny specks of 23-karat gold shimmer. It also has a subtle, but fresh citrusy scent upon application which I like very much.
I apply liberally with my fingertip all over the lips just before bed as my lip treatment after having completed my evening skincare routine. The texture is ultra-soft, smooth and quite nourishing to the lips. The balm is non-greasy or sticky as it melts easily, leaving a lovely sheen over the lips and the 23-karat gold flakes appears nothing but light shimmers if anything on the lips.
Overnight, my lips feel luscious, soft and smooth, but most importantly, the rich Camellia oil has deeply moisturised my lips, leaving them super hydrating than I have ever experienced when using lip balms.
The product is essentially a very expensive lip balm for what you get, however, the contents of the product work very well as it turns dry and chapped lips into amazingly plumped and healthy lips.
