TRAVEL EDIT: What’s In My Beauty Bag?

Travelling with my family is something that we try to do at least once a year. We often just go up to the coast for a few days for r & r. I can’t go away without bringing several beauty products and this may just be a few handful, but I know I will re-edit my beauty bag again! You will notice some products I didn’t add to this post as you may see it on my instagram. Make sure to follow along if you want to see what we get up to! (shameless plug).

Whenever I take a break with my family, I usually end up bringing along beauty products I already use at home, like why change when skin has been good, right? This time, I thought about trying out some new products that I was gifted from the recent Priceline Pharmacy The Beauty Prescription Live Event, as well as products from The Beauty Expo Australia. Of course, I had to bring along some current faves I am already using in my daily skincare rituals.

Skincare Products

*Bioderma Hydrabio Gel-Creme Light Moisturising Care 40ml –  I have enjoyed many Bioderma products and I am excited to include this new-to-me from the hydrabio range, which has been a favourite range for a couple of years now. This light moisturising cream is described as a moisturiser for dehydrated, sensitive to combination skin types who lack of radiance and hydration. This has a light and fresh fragrance that is also great to use under makeup as a base.

*Payot My Payot Brume Eclat 50ml – I love facial mist sprays and I have a handful on rotation, but I wanted to try something from this brand as I haven’t tried anything from them yet. The my payot brume eclat mist is described as a light, airy water mist that refreshes and invigorates skin. It is a multi-purpose that can be used throughout the day (used under day cream to wake up and stimulate the skin, over makeup to set your look, any time of the day to refresh, hydrate and protect skin from pollution, and in the evening before night cream to intensify its regenerative properties).

*Biore Baking Soda Cleansing Micellar Water 75ml – I haven’t used a micellar water in a bit, but I’m all for trying a few from different brands. I enjoyed using the baking soda pore cleanser, so I have high hopes for this product. This micellar water is described as an all-in-one cleanser and makeup remover, without the rinsing or rubbing. The unique formula claims to take it all off—while refreshing and balancing your pores!

*Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Eye Cream 15ml – I am already using this eye cream in my daily skin routines and love it. This product had a revamp with packaging, but the formula contains a powerful silk tree extract. The nourishing eye cream is said to address lines, wrinkles, dehydration, puffiness and dark circles around the delicate eye area to give you smoother, firmer, younger-looking skin. It has been a great addition to brightening up my eye area and hydrating my skin.

*Resibo Soothing Lip Balm Perfector 3-in-1 10ml – I have just started to use it this week. I won’t go into too much detail as I will have a review for it coming soon. The soothing lip balm is described as a 3-in-1 that protects and nourishes the lip skin, increases lip volume, and highlights the natural redness of your lips.

*Mavala Skin Vitality Anti-Fatigue Healthy Glow Serum 3ml – This is a new brand for me, but I know they recently launched a skincare line. You may be familiar with their nail polish collections and makeup. The anti-fatigue healthy glow serum is described as enriched antioxidant serum that preserves the skin from external aggressions, leading to premature ageing and restores radiance to the complexion.

Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner Alcohol-Free 40ml – I have only used this toner once and enjoyed how gentle and soothing it felt on my dry-sensitive skin. Can’t wait to use it again during the holidays. The herbal-extract toner is described as a gentle, cleansing and soothing toner that is suitable for normal to oily skin types. It contains no alcohol or harsh synthetic drying agents, and my be used to soothe and improve problem areas.

*A’kin Geranium & Cedarwood Natural Deodorant 150ml – Aside from using roll on, stick and powder deodorants, I haven’t come across anything like this. I have converted to using natural deodorants for the past 3 years and I can’t imagine myself using anything else. This natural deodorant is described as a delicate blend of geranium, cedarwood and patchouli oil selected for its deodorising properties, leaving your skin feeling clean, refreshed and comfortable.

*Invisible Zinc Sheer Defence SPF 50 Medium Tinted Moisturiser 50g – I have found a couple of favourites when it comes to tinted moisturisers and since this is still new to me, I enjoy wearing it for those no makeup-makeup days. The sheer defence tinted moisturiser is described as a complete 3-in-1 beauty solution. Use daily to nourish, protect and help prevent the appearance of premature ageing of the skin caused by UV exposure.

If you made it this far, thank you! A few more products to go and you’re at the finish line! 😀 😀

Makeup Products

NARS Blush Madly 4.8g – I haven’t found any other shade like this–nude, earthy, perfect for everyday and my staple blush. Looking at the pan you’d think this shade would be way light for me, but it surprisingly looks very natural on– with a hint of colour and no shimmer, even though it says on the NARS website. The blush madly is described as a shimmering tan pink shade that provides a natural, healthy looking colour as it immediately enlivens complexion.

*Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour Curvy Contour 6g – I have never been great at contouring my face, however, as an amateur with makeup, using the creamy chubby stick makes drawing on the face with ease and simplicity. The chubby stick sculpting contour is said to create the illusion of depth, makes areas appear to recede, and is long-wearing and is oil-free.

*L’Oreal Paris Unlimited Mascara 7.4ml – Like most drugstore mascaras, it can be a hit or miss. I have loved using the paradise mascara and I’m interested to see whether this will become another loved mascara. The unlimited mascara is said to give instant lash lift effect for 24hr of length, volume, definition and lash separation. It consists of this bendable mascara wand for precise application as it reaches for every last lash from corner to corner. [Available for purchase from October 2018.]

*Burt’s Bees Glossy Lipstick Nude Rain 3.4g – I have never tried anything from Burt’s Bees, so I am going in with an open mind. I was curious about its formulations and recyclable packaging that I had to give one of the colours a go. Of course, I gravitated instantly to nude rain, which is a shade that’s like my natural lip colour but better! The glossy lipstick is said to give medium coverage, a lip colour that you’ll love, with natural, moisturising ingredients, long-wearing that will make lips super lustrous and keep them hydrated.

*Rimmel London #Insta Fix & Matte Translucent Powder 8g – Translucent powders are my best friend. They save me for when makeup gets messed up. The insta fix & matte powder is what cures my face when there’s an oily t-zone landslide. It does so like an invisible fairy godmother and makes my face look presentable again. The matte powder is described as a micro-fine translucent powder that mattifies skin, controls shine and diminishes oil, sets and fixes foundation. It is also camera-friendly, flashback-proof and selfie ready all day long.

*Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Radiance Boosting Primer 25ml – I have never tried any of Napoleon’s makeup products, so I was interested to see how this primer would transform my combination-dry/sensitive skin to look radiantly healthy with makeup. The radiance-boosting primer is described as the glow-giving primer that can be applied before and after your base. It can lift and flatter the face as well as keep skin hydrated and get your glow on.

1000Hour Eyebrow Mascara Black/Dark Brown 14g – I picked this up at the Beauty Expo event, as I have been wanting to try this for the longest time but it always seemed to be out of stock at my local Priceline store. I wanted to compare with other brands to see if this could make it into my brow mascara family. I have tried a couple of affordable brands to high street brands. The eyebrow mascara is said to enhance your beauty to frame the face and define eyes. It can create a natural-looking, buildable colour, boosts brow depth–while a light gel base tames and sets for perfect shape.

*Solinotes Paris Oranger Eau De Parfum 50ml – This is probably the perfect spring and summer scent to wear on the daily. I am drooling at how luscious oranger (orange blossom) perfume smells amazingly beautiful. I enjoy my floral and citrus scents, and this just makes my heart sing! Its top notes are petitgrain, bergamot and lemon. Middle notes are water jasmine, orange blossom and rose. Base notes are honey and musk.
