It has been a hot minute and a worldwide pandemic—COVID-19. Times are tough, I know. I have been twiddling my thumbs for the past several months on how I was going to make use of my beauty blog for the new year and new decade. If you have been a loyal reader of my posts or from time to time come and visit my little spot on the web for news on what product I’m trialling out next, then you’ll know I haven’t blogged a thing in months.
To be frank, I ended 2019 with some personal struggles, which I won’t bore you with, but I also lost my way with blogging. I lost the passion I used to have with writing reviews consistently posting every few days. I probably over-worked myself and didn’t take good care of myself that I burnt out. I told myself I would spend more me-time in the new year, which I have, but that also meant I stopped blogging indefinitely. I concentrated on exercise and trying to maintain the weight I lost in 2019. More family time and less social media. If you don’t know, I have been in the blogging sphere since 2013. I have been going strong until my little family grew and that meant I had to put blogging on hiatus.
So what does it mean for the blog as of today? As you can see, I have been spending some time reviving it for the last few days. If you know you know—I obsess over never having the perfect blog template. I gave it a makeover as it has been a couple of years since my last update. Aside from the tweaks here and there, I will keep the blog site available but posts only go back as far as 2018 (use the Archive widget on the homepage to navigate your way). New posts may appear sporadically depending on how I feel and when this pandemic has subsided.
How are you all going? Working from home? Are your kids staying at home too? I’m looking for work, but with the situation at present, I have had to push back on my job hunting. My boys are still going to daycare & preschool, which means I have a bit of time to myself and tidy up the house.
Let me know what you’d like to see more in this space. Do you see some new categories? I’m trying some new things. I hope you’re all well, stay safe and don’t forget to wash your hands!
