I recently had an opportunity to try out a few of the latest YSL Beauty makeup products. I must admit, I have been interested in trying out more products from this brand, considering how much I have loved their Volupté Tint-In-Balm Lipsticks and have recently added a new shade to my tiny collection. *All Hours Primer SPF 18 / PA ++ 40ml AU$72
This primer has a runny and thin consistency that is evenly absorbed without leaving a white film over the skin. It leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated all day while making makeup stay on longer. It leaves a matte-shine free finish that keeps skin non-drying throughout the day. It also helps to minimise the appearance of pores and this is an essential step application before any makeup products should be used. This is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
*ALL Hours Foundation SPF 20 / PA +++ 25ml AU$89
This foundation has a lightweight consistency that leaves a smooth and evenly flawless finish. The coverage is a medium to full and buildable depending on how much you use. 2 pumps will cover my face and part of my neck that gives a semi-matte finish with a medium coverage. I used my real techniques expert face brush as it helps to blend the foundation into my skin evenly without any streaks.
The shade B40 is a little on the lighter side but doesn’t oxidise. I don’t mind wearing this shade on my face as it matches parts of my uneven skin tone on my body. I can always use a bronzer to balance out the colour. I found after wearing it on for 4 hours, I only noticed my nose starting to form oils, but no where else, which isn’t so bad considering I often experience a dewy t-zone by this time. The foundation sits on my skin comfortably and can wear it up to 6-8 hours before my skin begins to look dewy. I find that I experience this when there is SPF in the formulation and is a normal occurrence reaction with my skin.
It claims to have up to 24hr long-wear that it has a is waterproof and is transfer-resistant. You do not need to touch up, as it leaves a full coverage that creates a flawless and even coverage without a mask-like effect. It also has a matte shine control and reduces the appearance of pores, while protecting the skin that is enriched with a skincare complex and UV filter. This is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Overall, the foundation kept my skin looking as good as it did when first applied. It also didn’t hug around dry skin patches and instead left an evenly smooth surface, so flawless that I couldn’t stop checking my face out on the mirror—that’s how vain I became–I couldn’t help myself. It is so good that I will have to go visit my nearest YSL counter to get a proper colour match, because I can see this foundation being a fave of mine for the upcoming summer season!
*All Hours Concealer 5ml AU$59
This concealer has a thin fluid consistency that a little goes a long way. You don’t need to apply so much of it that it does help to conceal those dark circles and blemishes around the face. It doesn’t disturb the makeup underneath, instead it worked well together and sat on top of the foundation without it looking patchy. I wore this concealer over the foundation but could work similarly underneath it as well.
The shade Ivory was again light for my skin but that didn’t make it so my face looked ghostly, instead it created a lovely subtle light to my eye area that gave it that brightening-awakened look.
This claims to be the 1st YSL full coverage 16hr wear liquid concealer. It consists of a flawless buildable coverage to hide dark circles and all types of imperfections, as well as no creasing or caking and leaves a velvet matte shine-free finish.
Overall, I am very pleased with this concealer in relation to its texture and coverage. These have a slightly decent range of shades which is awesome considering most high end makeup brands have a select limit of 2 or 3 shades on offer.
